(Fellowship of the Ring, "Lothlórien")<br />Winter brings with it the darkest time of the year but also a return to light. Write or create art about a moment in a character's life when she or he began to perceive hope in the midst of darkness.<br /><br />And was further inspired by this quote from the same chapter:<br /><br />'<i>Yet maybe this will lighten your heart,' said Galadriel; 'for it was left in my care to be given to you, should you pass through this land.' Then she lifted from her lap a great stone of a clear green, set in a silver brooch that was wrought in the likeness of an eagle with outspread wings; and as she held it up the gem flashed like the sun shining through the leaves of spring. 'This stone I gave to Celebrían my daughter, and she to hers; and now it comes to you as a token of hope. In this hour take the name that was foretold for you, Elessar, the Elfstone of the house of Elendil!</i><br /><br />The idea of the Elessar seemed perfectly related to the prompt--the idea of glad heart and a return to hope/light.<br /><br />So, I decided to remake that jewel.<br /><br /><span class="cut-wrapper"><span style="display: none;" id="span-cuttag___1" class="cuttag"></span><b class="cut-open">( </b><b class="cut-text"><a href="https://lotr-crafts.dreamwidth.org/11760.html#cutid1">Read more...</a></b><b class="cut-close"> )</b></span><div style="display: none;" id="div-cuttag___1" aria-live="assertive"></div><br /><br /><img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=lotr_crafts&ditemid=11760" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/> commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2010-09-07:605045:7712dreamflowerMy Lord of the Rings jacket...2007-11-12T12:45:00Z2007-11-12T12:45:00Zthe new age channelcalmpublic24Posted by: <span lj:user='dreamflower' style='white-space: nowrap;' class='ljuser'><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/profile'><img src='https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png' alt='[personal profile] ' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: text-bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /></a><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/'><b>dreamflower</b></a></span><br /><br />I made a jacket, especially to wear to ScotMoot.<br /><br /><a href="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/dreamflower02/hobbitcrafts2002.jpg.gif" border="0"><img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/dreamflower02/hobbitcrafts2002-1.gif" border="0"></a><br /><br />More pictures behind the cut:<br /><span class="cut-wrapper"><span style="display: none;" id="span-cuttag___1" class="cuttag"></span><b class="cut-open">( </b><b class="cut-text"><a href="https://lotr-crafts.dreamwidth.org/7712.html#cutid1">Read more...</a></b><b class="cut-close"> )</b></span><div style="display: none;" id="div-cuttag___1" aria-live="assertive"></div><br /><br /><img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=lotr_crafts&ditemid=7712" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/> commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2010-09-07:605045:7416dreamflowerWhite Tree2007-08-21T20:48:00Z2007-08-21T20:48:00ZTV in the backgroundcreativepublic0Posted by: <span lj:user='dreamflower' style='white-space: nowrap;' class='ljuser'><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/profile'><img src='https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png' alt='[personal profile] ' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: text-bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /></a><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/'><b>dreamflower</b></a></span><br /><br />I posted some pics of the new black velvet dressy purse I made, beaded with the White Tree.<br /><br /><a href="http://dreamflower02.livejournal.com/237941.html">http://dreamflower02.livejournal.com/237941.html</a><br /><br /><img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=lotr_crafts&ditemid=7416" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/> commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2010-09-07:605045:545dreamflowerMore Crafts2006-05-17T16:24:00Z2006-05-17T16:24:00ZIn Elven Lands: Beware the Wolfcheerfulpublic14Posted by: <span lj:user='dreamflower' style='white-space: nowrap;' class='ljuser'><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/profile'><img src='https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png' alt='[personal profile] ' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: text-bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /></a><a href='https://dreamflower.dreamwidth.org/'><b>dreamflower</b></a></span><br /><br />Here are two more projects.
