Budgie's Hobby No. 1
I tried to take a photo of my bedroom star ceiling with my digital camera, and decided that a professional would need to do it. The stars just wouldn't show up on my little Kodak. Alternatively, I copied some photos off star ceiling sites on the Internet. This isn't my bedroom (unfortunately) but you can see what a star ceiling is.
This is what you see during the day:

And this is what you see when the lights are out:

I used to paint murals but switched to painting star ceilings about four years ago. It is hard, back-breaking work but so, so satisfying. The paint is a special glow-in-the dark paint which is very expensive. You 'charge' the ceiling using natural or artifical light, and the glow slowly fades, fading completely with the dawn. It is so relaxing and calming. The astonishing thing is it looks so real.

Date: 2006-05-18 05:13 pm (UTC)I promised several people I would tell them how to do this, so I'll be posting an instruction sheet here. Anyone can do it, as long as they are pretty fit and can stand a little pain *wink*
What a good idea this community is!
