Introductory post

Hullo everyone, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dreamflower02 for starting this community! What a great idea. :)

My name is Kel, and I've made several LotR costumes, which can be seen at the following links:

Merry's party outfit from FOTR

Merry's Fellowship outfit

Merry's Rohan armour

My Merry-inspired hobbit lass costume, which doesn't have its own page yet, but can be seen in the photo here.

Why, yes, I DO like Merry! :)

I've also made several LOTR teddy bears, including Frodo Bear and Merry Bear!

My current LOTR craft project is knitting up a pair of hobbit socks to use while in costume. They are coming along slowly, but surely!

Ooh, I'd love to see their things! It's so amazing the stuff people can come up with!

WOW! The costumes are beautiful and they don't look 'cheesy.' I've drooled over some LotRs costumes on some sites, but they so obviously are made from cheap material and substandard sewing. These are outstanding. I was especially impressed by Frodo's jacket, knowing how hard it is to sew a good jacket. I repeat - WOW!

(And loved 'Pippin's' grin. Very Pippinish!)

Your costumes are fabulous. I've seen them in other places before, but it's fun to see them in this community, too. The armor is especially gorgeous.

Kel, your Merry costumes ohgodIloveyourMerrycostumes arre just about the best work I've ever seen. I think I love love love the armour more than anything else, though -- I mean, I haven't been able to see it up close (hope I get to, though, one day), but that's just incredible work there. I hope you're as proud of it as I am amazed of it. Because, really, I am.

Alos, the hobbit-lass outfit = love.

Thanks for posting here, Kel.

As someone who is hopelessly befuddled by any art form that involves fabric and/or sewing, let me just say, wow! I can imagine the hard work and talent that must have gone into those. Your costumes are amazing. And your teddy bears are adorable. Love the broken carrot! :P
